Lianzhou is renowned for its unique trio of treasures: Polygonatum, smoked meat, and dragon whisk grass. What you see before you is the highest and most spectacular stalactite on land, resembling one of Lianzhou's three treasures Polygonatum. Polygonatum, which looks very much like ginger, is often called "mountain ginger." In Lianzhou, it is beloved by centenarians who turn to it for relief from minor discomforts such as dizziness, fever, or backaches. They also use it for soups, teas, and wines in their quest for health and longevity. Thus Polygonatum's reputation as a "holy medicine for health" is well-deserved, and it has played a significant role in Lianzhou's recognition as "China's Longevity Village."
