钟乳石奇观

连州地下河钟乳石资源丰富，光泽剔透，形状奇特，极具欣赏价值。此地钟乳石最多、最美、最密，洞内石笋、石柱、石花、石幔形态各异。钟乳石分三类：石钟乳、石笋、石柱。生长缓慢，需数万年甚至更久形成。连州钟乳石除欣赏外，还有药用价值。刘禹锡曾将连州钟乳石粉末寄给柳宗元治肺病。钟乳石能治肺病、五劳七伤，通顺血脉，唐代为朝廷贡品，主要用于药用。
